FAQ

Questions performers often ask

If you don’t see your question here, submit your application and use the notes field to let us know what you’re wondering about.

Is there a fee to perform?

There is no fee to apply or perform at Dancing on the River. The event is community-focused and free to attend. We may invite donations or sponsors to support production costs, but there is no charge to performers.

What length and type of piece are you looking for?

Most pieces are 3–6 minutes long. We welcome both original choreography and repertory work as long as you have permission to perform it. All styles are welcome, but please keep content family-friendly and suitable for an outdoor public space.

Do I need a polished performance video to apply?

No. A studio or rehearsal video is completely fine. We mainly want to understand your style, group size, and the feel of the piece so we can program the evening thoughtfully.

When will I hear back after I apply?

We review applications on a rolling basis and aim to respond within 7–10 days. If you’re applying close to the event date, we may reply sooner as we finalize the line-up.

What happens if it rains?

Because this is an outdoor riverfront event, we are a rain or shine event. Details will be communicated clearly to all confirmed performers well in advance.
